We are recruiting for a thriving SEN College in Wandsworth who provide tailored education for post-16 students with high-functioning Autism, focusing on developing life skills, independence, and academic or vocational achievements. This College offer a welcoming and supportive environment where students thrive with the help of dedicated professionals. The College also support students in to gaining employment.
As an SEN Lecturer, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons, focusing on life skills, tailored to the needs and interests of students with high-functioning Autism.
Support students in developing essential life and work skills alongside their academic or vocational studies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and carers to create a holistic approach to each learner's education.
Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment that nurtures confidence and independence.
We are looking for a motivated and empathetic individual with:
A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS/QTLS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
Experience working with students with Autism, ideally within a post-16 setting.
Strong understanding of Autism and strategies for supporting high-functioning learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
A commitment to inclusive education and empowering young people with SEN to achieve their best.
