Job Location
London, United Kingdom
Job Description
About the role: Are you passionate about supporting young learners in a welcoming, close-knit school community? Join us as a Learning Support Assistant at a Sikh primary school in Redbridge, where your skills and dedication can make a real impact! As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in providing tailored support to children across Key Stage 1. You’ll work closely with teachers to boost student confidence, assist with interventions, and help them overcome challenges. This position is ideal for someone with experience in primary education, especially supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You’ll also work with individual students and small groups, tailoring support to match each child’s unique learning journey. The school’s excellent behaviour culture will enable you to focus on creating a safe and positive learning environment for those needing extra help.
About the school: This school is not only beautifully designed and well-funded but also radiates warmth and community spirit, deeply rooted in Sikh values. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’ll experience a genuine sense of belonging. The school is highly supportive of both staff and students, encouraging personal and academic growth. Although it serves a large primary cohort, it maintains a strong community ethos, making everyone feel valued and heard. With excellent resources, stunning facilities, and a highly engaged parental community, you’ll be joining a school where positivity and collaboration thrive. Parking is available, making your daily commute smoother, and the school is easily accessible by local transport links.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working in schools, particularly within a primary or SEN setting.
• A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children’s individual needs.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• An understanding of Sikh values or openness to embracing the school’s ethos.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing in-class support for Key Stage 1 students, focusing on those with high needs.
• Assisting with booster sessions and intervention programs to support each child’s learning objectives.
• Collaborating with teachers to develop strategies for student growth and engagement.
• Supporting students with SEN in a respectful, encouraging manner.
• Ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported.
Perks and Benefits:
• Community Focus: Experience the warmth and connection of a community-centric Sikh school.
• Excellent Facilities: Work in a well-resourced school that values education and development.
• Parking on Site: Convenient, hassle-free parking, saving time on your commute.
• Positive Culture: Join a school known for its outstanding behaviour and dedicated staff.
• Continuous Professional Development: Access training and resources to help you grow in your career.
