Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them reach their potential? Do you want to make a difference in a primary school setting? We are searching for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in Stockport this January!
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those developing early literacy skills. This role will focus on providing personalised support, especially in SEN assistance and phonics instruction, to help each child build confidence and make progress. This is an excellent opportunity for education graduates to gain valuable experience!
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN, adapting resources to meet their needs.
• Assist with phonics instruction and other early literacy interventions, under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
• Support the classroom teacher in managing activities and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to learning and development.
• Build supportive relationships with students to encourage their personal, social, and academic growth.
About You
• Relevant experience in a school setting is advantageous, but not required – recent graduates with a passion for education are welcome.
• Understanding or willingness to learn about SEN support and phonics teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, with a warm, patient, and encouraging approach to working with young children.
• Strong teamwork skills, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
