Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Pay: £85-£100 per day

About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs, you’ll be an essential part of our school’s SEN team. This is a full-time, long-term position designed for someone with a real passion for supporting young learners with SEMH challenges. Working across Key Stages 1 and 2, you’ll support children in managing their emotions, fostering resilience, and reaching their full potential. This role is ideal for a compassionate, patient, and motivated individual looking to make a tangible difference in the lives of children who need it the most.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children with SEMH or similar SEN needs in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and social-emotional learning strategies.
• Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (Level 2 or higher preferred).
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• 1:1 and Small Group Support: Work directly with students with SEMH needs, both in 1:1 settings and small groups, to aid their learning and social development.
• Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour strategies tailored to each student, creating a supportive learning environment.
• Collaborative Planning: Partner with teachers, the SENCo, and parents to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
• Promote Independence: Encourage students to build confidence and independence, helping them develop essential skills for both in and out of the classroom.
• Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in preparing materials, adapting resources, and managing the classroom environment to suit the needs of all students.
