Our Role

To support and assist the Branch Merchandising team with the daily running of the department and to help achieve the departmental objectives and assist with all commercial strategies.

You will be responsible for liaising with our UK and International retail stores as well as working across different functions across the business. You will oversee the planning and allocation of stock throughout the retail estate and support the planning and opening of new stores. You will also be involved with the running of trading reports and analysis to help make commercial decisions.

The ideal candidate will understand the Merchandising function and retail experience would be beneficial. They should be keen to learn, have a good eye for detail and accuracy and be competent in excel. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are also very important in this role.


What youll be doing

Planning/Trading

To help provide regular performance reviews across all stores. This could be running detailed analysis or conducting branch visits.

To assist with the planning of key seasonal trading periods and manage the allocation of stock levels in retail. This includes new season launches and stock consolidation periods.

Supports with the co-ordination of stock allocations for new branch openings. Ensures stock arrives in branch on time and in line with the critical path.

Helps analyse and plan space, grading and planned options at store level. To ensure stores receive the correct product and depth to support trade.

Supports the Branch Merchandising team with the production of standard daily and weekly reports

Works closely with the warehouse and provide weekly/daily pick forecasts in order to assist with the efficient flow of stock into retail.

Commercial Awareness

To be aware of the brand / customer profile

To regularly undertake store visits across our retail estate

To produce appropriate business reports after each visit and follow up action points

To understand, prioritise and work to critical dates and deadlines in the both the planning and trading process

To be aware of outside Retail activity

Merchandising Systems

To develop an excellent working knowledge of The White Companys merchandising systems (MPlan Explorer, A&R , Island Pacific, D365 and Essbase)

Understands the stock allocation process to maximise sales and profit in retail.



The skills and experience youll need

Intermediate Excel skills

Numerate able to quickly and accurately review data and identify logical next steps

High attention to detail and accuracy

Interpersonal skills be enthusiastic, approachable and able to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.

To be a strong team player whilst being able to use your own initiative

To have a genuine passion for beautiful products and stylish living.
