GSL Education Newcastle Branch are currently working in partnership with a magnificent educational institute in Washington that is seeking a Teaching Assistant for students over 16 to join their team. This role comes with an epic educational experience that promotes both academic success and personal growth.
Job Title: Post 16 Teaching Assistant
Location: Washington
Salary Range: £75 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long Term
About the Role
As a Post 16 Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of students' journeys, helping them excel in their coursework while fostering their personal growth. Working alongside teachers, you will ensure each student feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
Responsibilities of the Post 16 Teaching Assistant:
Provide academic support to students aged 16 and more in both one-on-one and small-group settings.
Assist in maintaining a positive, engaging and structured learning environment.
Monitor student progress and report key observations to teachers.
Support behaviour management strategies, promoting positive attitudes and engagement.
Prepare and organise resources and materials for lessons.
Encourage students to develop essential life skills and independence.
The successful candidate will:
Be a recent graduate with a degree in Education or a related field.
Be committed to working alongside young children and dedicated to supporting their academic growth.
May have previous experience working with post-16 students in an educational setting.
Have good organisational abilities, strong communication and classroom management skills and the capacity to run a classroom efficiently.
Have an understanding and compassionate approach to helping the students.
Have flexibility and adaptability to cover various subjects.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
