Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading FMCG manufacturer at their site in Manchester. We’re seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their Engineering team as they look to strengthen their engineering problem solving ability and CI journey.

Role profile:
Your role as Maintenance Manager will support the site engineering team to deliver in a fast-paced flagship site that has undergone a multi-million-pound investment with further significant capital plans in the coming years. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, this role will support the day-to-day management of engineering activities and work closely with the Reliability & CI Projects teams, with responsibility for ensuring compliance with Statutory, Mandatory and Legal requirements, safe and effective asset care for equipment, services, utilities and facilities.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, Days
37.5 hours PW.

Maintenance Manager - Summary of Role Accountabilities:
Develop and co-ordinate the execution of the PPM program
Conduct periodic Team leader 1-2-1’s
Ensure Engineering Work Requests are completed to agreed timescales and carry out planned work during none ‘Breakdown’ situations.
Ensure the highest standards of health & safety, food safety and other manufacturing practices are being achieved and maintained by self and your team.
Provide efficient and effective procurement of engineering spares.
Facilitate and prioritise engineering spend, working alongside the site engineering manager.
Drive daily control meetings within department.
Support delivery of Engineering Strategy for Asset Care
Work with the CI & Project engineers to co-ordinate line improvements.
Health and Safety management /surveillance, ensure crimson and Sphera data bases are kept up to date and reports are provided as required.
Risk Assessments for engineering activities and reviewed annually for quality and accuracy.
Ensure Compliance with Statutory, Mandatory and Legal requirements.
Analysis and reporting of Engineering KPI’s & action plans on daily/weekly basis.
Co-ordinate knowledge transfer through development of SOP’s and training of Engineers
Required Qualifications, skills and experience:
We’re looking for an experienced maintenance manager - proactive and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring machinery and equipment operate at peak efficiency. You’ll need to be from a fast-paced FMCG / Manufacturing environment where maintaining product quality and adhering to food safety regulations are paramount.
In terms of qualifications, we’re seeking a candidate with an Engineering apprenticeship and a minimum NVQ 2, City & Guilds or ONC/HNC
