Civil Design Engineer

Job Description
Our client is looking to recruit a Civil Design Engineer to work in their Manchester office. This role will include being in a medium sized team and liaising with clients and external agencies.
You will need to have a degree level in Civil Engineers or the equivalent with at least 3 years post grad experience. Experience in residential/commercial/industrial developments from conception to technical approval is required.

The role:
Pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolution of planning conditions including drainage feasibility and highways considerations.
Flood risk assessments (flood modelling undertaken by in-house team).
Detailed drawings and calculations to technical approval for adoptable highways and drainage to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104, etc.
Preparation of 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles, etc.
Liaise with clients and external agencies i.e. Environment Agency, Local Highway Authorities, Water Authorities, etc.
Design work on projects for water and wastewater authorities.
As appropriate, represent JNP Group at meetings, public exhibitions, planning committees and public inquiries when required, and undertake site inspections.
Contribute to project management and control suitable projects.
Support the training and professional development of team members.
Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.
What you need to succeed:
Educated to a minimum Degree level in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
Chartered Engineer status, [or approaching], with relevant professional institution
Experience in managing and leading client relationships, reporting on progress and managing work within budget and to programme
Able to check and sign off technical design work
Experience in the planning, design and construction of residential, commercial and industrial developments from conception to technical approval
Leading on a range of projects or acting as technical discipline lead for larger projects
Experience in working in collaborative teams with clients, contractors, external design team members, local authorities, statutory bodies and other third parties
Leading and mentoring a small team of engineers and technicians located in the local office or other offices across the country
