Job Description
Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator
Shift: Days and Nights available
Rate: £18 - £21 (plus time and 1/3 shift allowance for nights)
The Job
* As a machinist you are responsible for ensuring that the organization’s procedures and standards are complied with whilst producing machined components to specification, ensuring the highest quality of products are in line with on-time delivery at all times.
* Setting and operating several multi-axis CNC machines.
* Confidently program parts, fully, or partially.
* You will support the maximisation of workflow on the machines within your cell without compromising quality. If issues arise during manufacture, you are required to give feedback through your management structure.
* You are required to maintain your machine and working area to the expectation of the companies high standards.
* You are responsible for basic inspection of parts to ensure the ongoing quality of the parts you manufacture.
* Produce shift handover records with other shift-based employees in the machining department
* Support the Machining Lead to drive and develop the departmental continuous improvement.
* To work to all company procedures, including strict adherence in ensuring works orders signed off and are always kept with the job in hand to maintain data integrity.
* Uphold high standards of 5S housekeeping and be flexible in workload demands demonstrating adaptability to our ever-evolving requirements.
* To observe and comply with lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5S.
Requirements
* Must be an experienced machinist with a proven track record, supported with a recognised level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
* Experienced at programming, setting and operating multi-axis machining centres
* Previous experience of machining a wide range or material, on small batch precision components, preferably in a motorsport, aerospace or a similarly disciplined field.
* Previous knowledge of CAM software(s) such as Powermill, Fusion 360.
* Previous knowledge of Heidenhain controllers.
