Equities Portfolio Construction Specialist
This is a great job for an experienced Portfolio Construction Specialist to join our Equities Team.
A bit about the job:
As a Portfolio Construction Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing a consistent approach to portfolio construction across our equity franchise. Your main responsibilities will include:
Process Improvement & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with portfolio managers, constructively challenge existing processes, leveraging insights from the broader firm and industry best practices to teams' investment processes.
Quantitative Rigour : Explore process enhancements from innovative quantitatively driven approaches to portfolio construction across four key areas of our equity strategies: core, income, unconstrained and sustainable.
Alpha Generation: Enhance alpha through well-informed and effective portfolio construction techniques.
Infrastructure Development : Collaborate on building a shared infrastructure across the firm to enable best-in-class portfolio construction for high idiosyncratic risk portfolio including development of tools and techniques which aid active risk management of positions and the broader portfolio.
Benchmarking & Best Practices : Work with external firms where relevant to ensure our portfolio construction processes meet or exceed industry standards.
Performance insights and reporting : Support the Head of Equities with quarterly and ad hoc reporting with the development of dashboards and insights around the efficacy of our portfolio construction approach.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
What you'll get for this role:
In this role you'll be 'Certified' under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority's Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we'll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we'll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain 'fit and proper' and competent to carry out your role. We'll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Hands-on experience in portfolio construction and a strong toolkit of methods and technologies to support this. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of factor selection and investing, with the technical and development skills needed to enhance our existing frameworks.
- Multiple portfolio construction approaches
- Advanced factor selection and analysis techniques
- Portfolio construction tools and technologies
- Collaborating within a complex, multi-strategy investment environment.
