Job Advert: Electronics Test Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Test Engineer to join our long-established, successful client. In this role, you will play a critical part in testing a range of world-class products, ensuring they meet exacting engineering specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
Conduct fault finding and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Manage test operations through the company’s ERP system.
Execute customer witness Factory Acceptance Tests.
Record time accurately against cost codes as per work instructions from the Team Leader.
Undertake additional duties aligned with the role's nature and scope. About You:
Completed an apprenticeship in electronics or electro-mechanical engineering, with a minimum of NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 qualification.
Experience in a similar testing role.
Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring schedules, and circuit diagrams.
Skilled in soldering, crimping, lacing, and splicing.
Proficient in using electronic test equipment and following detailed test specifications.
Strong fault-finding skills and a methodical approach to diagnostics, with a collaborative mindset when necessary.
Familiarity with Mil-Spec connectors, cable identification, and production techniques.
Awareness of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) practices, with experience in PCB assembly, testing, and repair.
Competent in report writing and email communications.
A proactive team player with the ability to work independently and produce high-quality workmanship.
Adheres to safety and quality standards, with the ability to meet deadlines without compromising on Health & Safety or Quality.
Open to receiving training and willing to train others. Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work within the Test Team and interact with other departments, including Mechanical Fitters, Wire Team, and Engineering.
Operate in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
