Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £100 – £120 per day

Location: Hackney

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the role:

We are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our outstanding, one-form entry primary school in Hackney, London. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit community where every child is encouraged to excel and develop a genuine love for learning. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning in Key Stages 1 and 2. Working closely with the class teacher, you will provide tailored assistance to students, lead small group sessions, and occasionally deliver whole-class lessons, especially during teacher planning and preparation time.

Application Requirements:

• A Level 4 (or higher) HLTA qualification.
• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a diverse school setting.
• A proactive, enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to the school’s values of inclusivity, respect, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the academic and social development of children in KS1 and KS2.
• Leading engaging group activities and individual interventions.
• Assisting with lesson planning, resource preparation, and classroom organization.
• Promoting positive behaviour and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Supervising children during breaks and other transition times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
