In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Emerging Technologies -Solid Dosage Forms US facility in Durham, NC is a 194,000 square foot tableting and packaging facility that supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. SDF maintains a curious and pioneering spirit, harmonious with our growing pipeline of new products and emerging technologies. We are hiring for multiple 2nd future positions. Operators will work 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday until 2025 then gradually move to 2nd shift schedule working 4:00pm - 2:30pm.

The Position

Efficiently, effectively & safely clean, setup & operate manufacturing equipment to achieve production goals, while adhering to applicable cGMPs & SOPs.

Relationships

Reports to Shift Manager.

Essential Functions

Setup, operate, monitor & control equipment, systems & processesClean & sanitize manufacturing, filling & packaging rooms & equipment per SOPsExecute production schedule to achieve production goalsHandle labeling & components correctly; transferring, counting, FIFO, returns, etc.Participate actively in & support event responseReview & author SOPs & other documents as requiredIdentify, report & resolve quality issuesExecute &/or assist during equipment maintenance, including restoration of lost function, predictive & preventative maintenanceTrain fellow employees in areas of expertise & aggressively learn systems & equipment outside of own expertise (with the appropriate experience & skill level)Record/review production data in BPR & associated formsFollow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther accountabilities, as assigned

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate’s degree preferredMinimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing industry preferred or may consider a completed BioWorks/BioBlend Certificate, military experience or a current contingent worker with three (3) months of demonstrated performance in the role/relevant area in lieu of work experienceFDA regulated industry & solid dose manufacturing experience preferredAbility to read, write & understand complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to detail requiredComputer literacy including use of Microsoft Office suite programs requiredSome basic mechanical skills preferred
