About the Role:

We are seeking enthusiastic and creative Drama Graduates to join our team as Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants in Waltham Forest. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in drama who are passionate about using their skills to inspire and support children with special educational needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, youll bring creativity, energy, and empathy to help students engage in their learning. Your role will involve working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans, assist with classroom management, and offer emotional and social support to help students reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and delivery of individualised education plans for students with special educational needs.
  • Support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, using drama techniques and creative approaches to engage and motivate students.
  • Work alongside teachers to adapt lesson plans to suit the needs of SEN students.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Monitor and record student progress and contribute to review meetings.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Drama or a related field.
  • A passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and creativity, with a commitment to making a positive difference in students' lives.
  • Experience or voluntary work in an educational or SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
