IT Server Engineer

This Higher Education Body is a leading provider of further education across four council areas in Northern Ireland. They offer a wide range of qualifications, apprenticeships, and business services to support the local business community. Role Overview: The IT Server Officer will support the IT Systems Manager in implementing the server and cloud architectures. Responsibilities include managing, maintaining, and supporting the server and cloud infrastructures to meet organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities: Ensure changes to server and cloud systems follow change management policies. Configure, manage, and maintain server and cloud systems, including Windows and Linux servers, VMWare, Hyper-V, SAN/NAS storage, network switches, and cloud services (Office 365, Azure). Document and implement procedures for server and cloud systems management. Perform proactive monitoring and regular performance analysis. Generate reports and maintain an inventory of server equipment. Maintain IT facilities in good order. Qualifications and Experience: Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline with 3+ years of IT server systems experience, or 5+ years of relevant IT server systems experience, or Microsoft MCSA in Windows Server, SQL Server, Cloud Platform, or equivalent with 1+ year of relevant experience. Skills: Experience in server system support within a multi-site IT service environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory, VMware, or Hyper-V. Experience with fault identification and resolution. Other Requirements: Ability to travel between sites and to external events. This position closes for applications on Friday 29th December.
