About the apprenticeship role
This role is an Apprentice Operative based in the North West with our Delivery Team. You will study a Level 2 Water Network Operative apprenticeship qualification which will take around 18 months to complete including the end point assessment (EPA) and you will work with our specialist training provider on this. You will work 40 hours per week onsite.
During your apprenticeship you will learn how to construct, maintain and repair water network infrastructure. You will carry out operative tasks needed for the on-site activity for the framework that you operate in. You will learn from those around you and be instructed by your team leader/site manager.
This role will begin with us in March 2025.
What your day could look like
- Learning how to construct, maintain and repair water network infrastructure, learning from our qualified operatives, your team leader and mentor.
- Understanding how to comply with Avoves Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policy Provisions and Work Together, Safe Together ethos.
- Learning to carry out tasks, activities and learn how to operate plant and equipment that you need to use. Gain competence in using this equipment and certifications where needed.
- Building good relationships with customers and always behave in a professional manner.
- Understanding how to adhere to Streetworks regulations.
- Develop knowledge about risk assessments and make sure you always follow these. Always wear the correct personal protective equipment and ensure that all tools, equipment and plant are maintained, kept in a usable condition and report any concerns to your team leader.
We are committed to giving all our apprentices a minimum of six hours per week to dedicate to your studies and time to attend training with your apprenticeship provider.
About you
You will need the following to be eligible for this apprenticeship:
- To be 16 years of age or over.
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths and English or Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English.
This apprenticeship would particularly suit someone who has good team working skills and wants to work with others to find solutions to problems. We would like you to be able to show you have good written skills and can talk to others well. You will need to be organised and have a good attention to detail. We want you to be excited to develop a career, learn more and gain an apprenticeship qualification.
