Overview
We are looking for a Casualty Claims Handler dedicated to managing a portfolio of public and employers’ liability claims for local government clients. You will be responsible for handling these claims from first notification to settlement and will be making decisions on liability, fraud and quantum. You will also oversee these cases through litigation. You will be required to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants and their representatives using multiple means of communication such as phone, email, video conferencing etc. We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive, experienced claims handlers to join our Tamworth location and be part of our dedicated team. Maintaining client relationships is a key part of our operation and you may on occasion be required to attend meetings predominately via video conferencing. How you'll make an impact
- Manage a portfolio of public and employers' liability claims for local government clients.
- Handle claims from first notification to settlement, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Assess liability, fraud, and quantum, making informed decisions based on available evidence and policy terms.
- Oversee claims through litigation, working closely with legal teams to ensure effective case management.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants, and their representatives.
- Utilise multiple means of communication, such as phone, email, video conferencing, etc., to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim files, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing overall claims handling efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills.
About You
- A good understanding of proactive claims handling
- A good understanding of insurance principles
- Experience of handling public and employers’ liability claims up to a value of £25,000 without referral
- Confident in progressing to handling claims exceeding £25,000 under authority
- Working knowledge and experience of handling MOJ Portal Claims
- Excellent customer service
- Good attention to detail
- Experience in handling larger losses and failure to remove and/or police claims would be preferable
- Eligible to work in the UK
