GLRF Secretariat Manager
£50,788 - £52,805 per annum
Location: Tri Service Centre, Quedgeley, Gloucester
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Local Resilience Forum (LRF)
Secretariat in Gloucestershire.
**About The Role**
The Local Resilience Forum is a partnership of category 1, category 2,
volunteers and other partners who work together to ensure that Gloucestershire
can effectively prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
We are seeking to appoint a LRF Secretariat Manager to facilitate the work of
the LRF in Gloucestershire. This will include working closely with the above
partner agencies and Central Government to ensure Gloucestershire meets its
requirements under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004. It will also
require the successful applicant to support the LRF chair and executive board
and coordinate multi-agency work at the national, strategic and tactical
levels through an understanding of CCA command and control arrangements.
**About You**
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a LRF, the ability to
forge strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and
evidence of supporting partner agencies to respond to the demands of shifting
priorities and unplanned events.
We are seeking an individual who is educated to degree level (or who can
demonstrate equivalent experience), self-motivated and able to use their
initiative. Other key responsibilities will include project management, budget
management, report writing, chairing and attending meetings and managing and
leading a small team.
The role is varied and the successful candidate will be required to carry out
a wide range of tasks such as: managing work programmes, supporting LRF sub
groups, help embed lessons learnt from previous emergencies, support the
national risk assessment process, facilitate presentations to a wide range of
stakeholders, assist with training, and where possible, act as a strategic and
tactical advisor to command and control cells.
In the event of a large emergency there may be a requirement to work
occasional evenings and weekends.
The role is based at the Tri Servce in Quedgeley, Gloucester and is full time,
37 hours per week with flexible working available.
This role requires security vetting to SC level and this can be arranged on
appointment.
