The opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Construction Lecturer to join our friendly Construction department based at our state-of-the-art facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to inspire and teach students across a range of levels, from Level 2 to Level 4. As a Lecturer, you will help shape the future of the construction industry by equipping students with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills they need to excel in their careers.
You will deliver engaging and interactive lessons across a wide range of topics, including construction technology, building design, site management, and sustainable building practices. By planning and preparing high-quality, level-appropriate teaching materials, you’ll ensure students have a clear understanding of the subject and feel confident in their learning. Your ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the diverse needs of your students will play a key role in their success.
In addition to delivering lessons, you will assess students’ work, providing constructive feedback that helps them grow and improve. Maintaining accurate records of student performance and ensuring that assessments are completed on time will be part of your responsibilities. You will also create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, making sure all health and safety standards are met, both in the classroom and in practical workshop sessions. You’ll oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that workshop areas are safe and conducive to learning.
You will contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum, ensuring it remains current and aligned with the latest industry standards. Collaborating with colleagues and local employers, you’ll ensure the courses meet the evolving needs of the workforce and help provide students with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. You’ll also play an important role in sharing ideas and best practices with your colleagues to continually improve the teaching experience across the department.
As a mentor and academic advisor, you will provide support and guidance to students, helping them navigate their academic journey, explore career opportunities, and plan for their professional growth.
