Job Requirements
You must meet the eligibility and qualifications by the closing date of the announcement. To be found eligible for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.50 out of 4.0; (3) be in good academic standing; and (4) meet graduation requirement as stated in the Requirements section. Education requirements are established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and must be met by close of announcement. Below are the requirements by grade: CG-03 level – Completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study; OR have six months of general experience to include: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled; OR have a combination of education and experience: equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. CG-04 level – Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree; OR have 1 year of general experience to include: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled; OR have a combination of education and experience: equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. CG-05 level – Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree; OR must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-4 grade level or above in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Providing administrative or technical support to a program operation, such as entering and tracking data for a program, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and responding to inquiries by phone and/or in writing; Preparing correspondence, documents, and reports, including drafting and editing written materials; Using web based or standalone software, such as the Microsoft suite of products, and cloud-based document systems to enter data, organize and present information, and run reports.; OR have a combination of education and experience as listed below. Please note, only education in excess of 60 undergraduate hours may be used in this calculation. Combination of Education and Experience - Your current education completed is credited as a percentage of the education required for the grade level and your current experience is credited as a percentage of the total experience required for the grade level. The two percentages are added and must equal 100% in order to qualify for the desired grade level. An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.
