KS2 Learning Support Assistant
January start
Fixed-term with the possibility of becoming permanent (subject to suitability)
£90 - £100 per day

We are looking for a KS2 Learning Support Assistant to join a large, nurturing, and supportive inner-city school in Leeds. This is a fixed-term position with the opportunity for a permanent role if the candidate proves suitable. You will be working with pupils in Upper Key Stage 2, providing group intervention support in core subjects and working with pupils who have SEND.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide group intervention support in core subjects (Maths, English, etc.) for Upper Key Stage 2 students.
Support pupils with SEND to help them access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive, focused learning environment.
Work with pupils who have EAL (English as an Additional Language), supporting them with language development and integration into the school community.
Collaborate with teachers to ensure that learning plans are being followed and that students receive appropriate support.
The Ideal Candidate:
Has experience working with KS2 pupils, especially in providing group intervention.
Experience with SEND and managing pupils with additional learning needs.
Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain a positive classroom environment.
Experience working with EAL pupils is highly beneficial.
Able to work as part of a supportive, nurturing team with a commitment to setting clear, concise boundaries for students.
