Homebased with travel around south west England
ROLE PURPOSE
Due to an increase in contracts, our clients are recruiting an engineering assessor to undertake end point assessments, predominately in the Engineering Maintenance sector. This role will require travelling to various locations throughout England, but a recent contract has identified many EPAs within a commutable distance of Swindon as it could be a good base as the clients could be 1 – 2 hour commute away in any direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To prepare for, and undertake, End Point Assessments (EPAs) in line with our clients systems and practices within the agreed timescales.
To lead EPA activities with training providers and employers.
To complete all EPAs and record and upload all relevant material onto the ACE360 system within agreed timescales.
To undertake checks on skills specific Gateway documentation supplied by apprentices to ensure compliance with assessment plan requirements.
To be a credible ambassador for our clients.
To fulfil the key responsibilities of the job role in a professional manner adapting to changing circumstances and prioritising accordingly.
Prepare for EPA activity by reviewing and/or assessing apprentice work and preparing questions.
Conduct EPA activities and make assessment judgements on apprentice competence in line with the appropriate standard governing apprentice competency.
Undertake detailed checks on skills specific Gateway documentation supplied by apprentices and training providers to ensure that they meet the requirements of the published assessment plans.
Work with the IQA team to identify trends and areas for standardisation and improvement and participate in regular standardisation and moderation activities.
Liaising with the IQA Team to ensure possible improvements are fed back to training providers and employers.
Work with the EPA Team to ensure maximisation of opportunity for apprentices to undertake EPAs.
To comply with internal and statutory procedures relating to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Finance, IT, the environment, equipment, Safeguarding and health and safety.
To monitor and maintain data systems to ensure accurate and relevant data is available.
To ensure that any issue that could affect your performance, health and safety, motivation, and engagement are brought to your manager’s attention.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Credible professional qualifications and experience in Maintenance Engineering, or closely aligned subjects.
Functional Skills L2 in English and Maths, or equivalent.
Knowledge of apprenticeships, End Point Assessment methods and processes.
Strong attention to detail and robust IT skills.
Desirable:
Assessor Award and/or substantial experience of assessing in a standards-driven environment.
Experience of working as an Independent End Point Apprenticeship Assessor.
