ROLE OVERVIEW:The Wire Person is responsible for the assembly, wiring, and installation of electrical components and systems in manufacturing environments. This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring schematics to ensure accurate wiring, panel assembly, and component installation. The Wire Person will also be responsible for, pre repair, inspection ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITESWiring and Electrical Assembly: Assemble and wire control panels, electrical systems, and components, using route cards / work instructions in accordance with engineering drawings and wiring schematics. Terminate, route, and connect wires, cables, and other electrical components in line with required specifications. ROLE REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION:ONC/OND in Engineering, or Fully indentured in an Apprenticeship in Electrical engineering. Relevant certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.*Listed below are the baseline skills required to carry out this function.*
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEExperience in the assembly of a wide range of electrical and mechanical components.Experience in the application and use of a wide variety of standard and bespoke tooling such as crimp tools, PACE rework stations, torque loading hand tools.To be competent in soldering, crimping, wiring looms, and assembly of small mechanical assemblies, to company, customer, national or international quality standards.Proven experience (2 years) in wiring and electrical assembly in a manufacturing or production environment.Experience with wiring electrical control panels and reading electrical schematics.Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical drawings and technical documentation.Familiarity of the use of hand tolls and electrical testing equipment such as multimeters continuity testers, etc.
