We're on the lookout for an Experienced Landscaper to join our well-established client based in Oxford
About the role:
To organise and lead Landscape projects on site. To work as part of a team of six, to provide excellent customer service in the delivery of the Landscape service. This includes working in Oxford City Council’s owned and managed properties, parks and urban spaces and for private customers and schools.
Undertake a wide range of associated landscaping & horticultural activities, in keeping with good practice and maintain equipment
The business is based out of Cutteslowe Park
About You:
Formal horticultural qualification or significant skilled horticultural and landscape experience
Experience in play installation, maintenance and repair and inspection
Full valid UK driving licence with a Cat C1 = E (to facilitate towing trailers)
Ability to work on own initiative. Flexibility with start and finish times, able to work an annualised hours schedule and able to work effectively as part of a team
Experience in horticulture and grounds maintenance work and use of horticultural machinery and able to undertake physically demanding work
The details:
Undertake on-site supervision of staff and training
To supervise agency and volunteer workers
Fully understand the Parks Quality Management System and to carry out these duties effectively in the absence of the Landscape and Countryside Supervisor
Delivery of grounds maintenance operations, including landscaping, play area inspections, identifying problems and taking appropriate action
Construction of play areas including laying rubber grass matting and wet-pour
Read and interpret site plans and establish site lines from maps, set out site levels and work with drain establishment
Maintenance and installation of fencing projects and repairs
Set out and maintain sports facilities, including the ability to carry out operations on fine turf, identifying problems and taking appropriate action
Use and maintain a full range of horticultural/construction equipment, including ride-on machinery, dumpers and mini diggers
To carry out tree and shrub planting as and when required and be able to identify plants, shrubs and trees for the purposes of cultivation, maintenance and planting.
Carry out tree and shrub planting, including the interpretation of plans and initial site setting out and ensuring the work plan is adhered to
Working Hours:
Between 7:30am to 16:30 Monday to Friday (please note times may vary to earlier starts or later finishes as required)
Salary £15.93per hour
