Job Title: 1:1 Behaviour Post-16 Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: London Borough of Greenwich, FE College
Contract Type: Fixed-term Contract, 5 Days a week
Salary: £85 to £110 a day (depending on experience)
FE College located in the London Borough of Greenwich is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4pm to start straight away.
This Behaviour LSA role involves providing tailored support to post-16 students with ADHD, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviours. The ideal LSA will have experience working with young adults in an educational setting and possess the skills necessary to manage and support students on a one-to-one basis.
You have experience supporting children within the classroom working in a similar post such as a Behaviour LSA or SEN TA/ Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant.
Experience working with students with ADHD, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour, preferably in a post-16 educational setting.
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
Provide individualised support to post-16 students with ADHD, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour.
Develop and implement tailored behaviour management plans in collaboration with educational staff and specialists.
Assist students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their academic goals.
Support the emotional and social development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and other relevant staff.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Attend relevant training sessions and professional development opportunities.
Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
