The Role
An exciting opportunity for a data analyst with software development experience to work in a newly established team delivering software modelling and analytic services in support of Babcock's strategic submarine maintenance and disposal programme in support of the UK Royal Navy.
Day-to-day, you'll operate in a team of data analysts and software developers responsible for designing and delivering modelling and analysis capabilities and running programme analytics for the UK submarine programme:
Developing operational and strategic business knowledge and using it to intelligently develop business scenarios / options and their analysis using modelling techniques.
To work as part of a high performing team to design, deliver and operate the team's overall modelling and analysis service.
Undertaking modelling and analysis of scenarios on behalf of the client and business to answer important strategic questions supporting decision making and planning of the submarine programme
Supporting development of analytic and modelling concepts and develop software to improve and enhance capabilities
Establish the data and information needs for analysis and proactively engage stakeholder to ensure it is secured.This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site 5 days a weeks at our Bristol Technology Centre (BTC) site, North Bristol.
Essential Experience of the Data Analyst:
Competent programming skills in Python.
Experienced or a suitable background to successfully undertake complex modelling, data analysis and operation of supporting tools / techniques.
The ability to adapt rapidly and positively to changing priorities, objectives, and workloads
Very strong numeracy, logic and problem-solving skills.
Database and / or software development and / or software integration experience
Ability to learn or experience in Microsoft Power BI.Qualifications for the Data Analyst:
Relevant degree (Maths, IT, Computing etc.) or strong relevant academic or vocational background.Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
