J3A Recruitment are proud to be supporting a leader in the water game. A Tier 1 Contractor who has already been successful throughout AMP 7 with a view to have even more success moving in to AMP 8.
Due to a large workload and order book, they are now seeking to employ an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team and support a range of projects around the Thames Vally.
The Project Engineer will be a key member of the MEICA Team, Project Team and the wider Thames Water Framework Team.
They will support and encourage other members of the MEICA Team including Graduates and Apprentices.
For the right person, they can find themselves at the forefront of some highly rewarding projects with an opportunity for progression into more senior roles within the business.
Duties of the Senior Project Engineer
* Management and assistance in the placement of subcontracts and material orders.
* Technical expertise in the placement of subcontracts and material orders within your discipline area.
* Vetting of subcontractors, inspecting their production, quality and installation.
* Attending site progress meetings and production of reports.
* Coordination of MEICA works to support design progress with the Design Manager.
* Inspection of equipment as required at factory and on site including FATs and SATs.
* Site supervision of sub-contractors during critical activities.
What's needed to be successful as Senior Project Engineer
* Display a high degree of technical knowledge and have relevant mechanical project engineering experience within a technical surrounding
* Programme focused with an ability to plan and organise resources both off and on site to deliver on time and in full.
* Experience of working in a contractor-based background within the water industry on sewage and water treatment works.
* Ideally be knowledgeable in all project engineer/management techniques required in the design and construction of water and/or sewage treatment works.
* Understanding of NEC4 condition contract and budget control is also required.
* Minimum HNC qualified in a mechanical engineering subject desirable.
* IT literacy essential.
* Professional qualification is desirable.
* SMSTS safety qualification and relevant CSCS card is desirable.
Remuneration / Package
* Salary up to £65,000 dependent on experience
