Job Description
About Us
The Stephen James Partnership (SJP) is an award-winning legal recruitment and consultancy agency, specialising in attraction and retention of the best talent in the industry.
Our Corporate Partnerships (CP) team leads our retention efforts, aiming to break down barriers to entry in the legal sector related to race & ethnicity and social mobility. We do this via a range of programmes such as mentoring, coaching, training and work experience opportunities.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual to join our CP team, in a role that combines both external and internal facing support. You will be involved in a wide range of responsibilities, primarily (a) outreach to both potential clients and candidates, and (b) managing our talent pools to ensure smooth programme operations.
You will also play a key part in the day-to-day running of our team by overseeing our internal CRM and team inbox. The role involves a creative element as well – you will be directly involved in planning our events as well as in producing materials and graphics to support our impact-led programmes.
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sales and business development within a mission-driven organisation. You will develop your ability to identify new market opportunities, reach out effectively, grow your commercial mindset and build relationships with candidates and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
This is a varied role which includes (but isn't limited to):
- Mapping and targeting a range of industries and sectors for outreach
- Identifying and engaging with potential clients and candidates through a range of communication channels such as emails, phone calls and LinkedIn messages
- Building and maintaining relationships with universities across the UK to connect with potential candidates for our programmes
- Fostering engagement with our wider community and generating new content
- Ensuring all internal systems are organised and up to date
- Liaising with all our external suppliers to resolve any technical issues and ensure hassle free processes
- Supporting on event planning and coordination
- Creating resources on Canva to be used for external and internal purposes, as well as creating LinkedIn posts
- Recognising best practice and opportunities to improve standard operating procedures
What We Are Looking For
- A graduate or future trainee solicitor with availability for an initial 6-month contract, starting in February 2025
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in handling cold outreach via calls and emails (experience in retail or sales is a big plus)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise them effectively – experience doing this would be advantageous (e.g., admin assistant, events coordinator etc.)
- A proactive approach to work and the ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team
- Some experience with promotions and marketing (e.g., making promotional posts on LinkedIn, and using Canva or similar design tools) would be helpful but not mandatory
- Ability to commute to our London office 5 days a week
*Please note that CVs will be reviewed on a rolling basis - the earlier you apply the better!
If this sounds like you, please send your CV across to corporatepartnerships@thesjp.co.uk
