Building Surveyor - Historic Building Expertise and Collaborative Projects
A leading architectural, heritage, and masterplanning practice based in Southwark is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their close-knit team.
This role offers the chance for a Building Surveyor to collaborate closely with an in-house architectural team while delivering exceptional building surveying services to private clients, with significant avenues for career progression as the team expands.
The Building Surveyor's Role
This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with a strong focus on historic and grade-listed buildings across sectors such as commercial, education, residential, cultural, and hospitality.
Conduct condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and technical due diligence.
Provide advice on the maintenance, refurbishment, and restoration of historic and grade-listed buildings.
Prepare schedules of works and manage projects from inception to completion.
Assist with planning and listed building consent applications.
Build and maintain strong client relationships while liaising with stakeholders to ensure project success.
The Ideal Building Surveyor Will Have
A degree in Building Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working on historic or grade-listed buildings (preferred).
A strong understanding of building pathology and statutory compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
