Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.The annual salary for this role is $75,000 (bachelor’s degree) with a $6k sign on bonus and $85,000 (master’s degree) with a $10,000 sign on bonus. This role includes a company vehicle and eligibility to earn premium pay.
Position Overview:
Power. We know all about it. The Electrical Engineering Services and Systems global service team is one of the largest and most experienced teams of power system professionals in the industry. As one of our engineers, you’ll help to provide solutions to our customers’ power problems at every stage of the power system.
The Power Systems Automation and Controls Engineering team is a full-service systems integrator with the capability to integrate the necessary equipment and technologies to provide a complete power automation solution. Our team brings extensive skills and experience with a variety of leading Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software packages enabling us to design graphically rich, easy-to-use operator interfaces that take advantage of the latest standalone or web-based technologies. Our experience transcends a multitude of equipment manufacturers, software packages, and network architectures, including all major OEMs HMI, Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), and components. We offer single point responsibility, a high level of engineering and systems integration expertise, and a unified focus on cost effective solutions, seamless integration, HMI development, energy management tools, and professional turnkey system design and implementation.
In this development program, you will:
- Implement Power Management and critical monitoring / control systems on-site.
- Provide applied engineering and consultation to customers in system integration, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of power management, control, and mission critical systems.
- Program PLCs for complex power transfer and control schemes.
- Develop SCADA systems and generator control mechanisms.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or computer science from an accredited institution, with graduation date no later than August 2025
- Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license and must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
- Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of electrical or computer engineering experience completed at the time of this application
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
- Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Overall cumulative GPA of a 3.2 or higher
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a major in electrical, computer, industrial or mechatronics from an accredited institution
- Prior relevant internship or co-op experience within electrical /power industry
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
- Coursework in electrical engineering or computer engineering
- Experience with engineering software (AutoCAD, MATLAB)
- Experience with HMI (Human Machine Interface) software and power monitoring software packages.
- Experience programming of PLC control systems (Power Control, Generator Control, and SCADA)
Position Success Criteria:
- Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton’s safety program and policy.
- Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to work variable hours, including nights & weekends, and travel within the district / state / region / country based on customer requirements.
- Strong computer skills required with Windows Operating Systems and Databases.
- Knowledge and understanding of best engineering practices for design of automation systems, power management systems, human-machine interface software, PLC programming, etc.
- Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems.
- Ability to interface with internal and external customers, salespeople, and other team members on a technical level.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills
- Must have the ability to work variable hours, including nights & weekends, and travel within the district / state / region / country based on customer requirements.
- This position requires you to drive an Eaton vehicle
- Performs physically demanding tasks, requirement to stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach above, to, and below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. Frequently required to climb and regularly required to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to push/pull greater than 50 pounds with assistance. May be required to drive extended distances, work in extreme weather and temperature conditions, work at sites with areas that have poor lighting, ventilation, and dust and/or be exposed to high noise levels.
- Location will be in one of five major regions within the United States (i.e. Central, Northeast, Southeast, Gulf and West regions); typically in or near a major U.S. city
- This role may include up to 25% travel within a local region
