What You'll Do
- Participate in discovery of functional and non-functional requirements from key stakeholders
- Lead impact analysis, task/component breakdown, and estimation of large development efforts and technical upgrades
- Provide hands-on guidance and technical oversight to application development teams regarding effective solution design, development practices, DevSecOps, and framework use
- Engage in troubleshooting efforts and provide technical leadership
- Execute Proofs of Concept (POCs) / Proofs of Technology (POTs) in support of CAI and client initiatives
- Responsible for design and development work at a senior level
- Work directly with clients and lead development teams through the SDLC
- Assess the health of applications overseen by the CAI team, and provide strategic direction to CAI and our client regarding evolving the application portfolio over time
Required:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject; or equivalent real-world experience
- 6+ years of experience designing enterprise-level applications using Java EE and service-oriented architecture principles
- Demonstrated Solution Architecture experience
- Ability to explain complex solutions/issues to a variety of technical and business stakeholders
- Strong experience with relational databases; Oracle, SQL Server, and/or PostgreSQL preferred
- Strong documentation skills including the ability to create design specifications
- Proven hands-on Software Design and Development experience
- Experience with aspects of Web Application Security - authentication & authorization, user management, security scanning tools, vulnerability remediation, etc.
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and middleware integrations (SOAP & REST/JSON services, MQ, DataPower, IBM ACE, etc.)
- Understanding of Azure Cloud concepts and components is desired
- Understanding of mainframe concepts is a plus - IMS (Transactional and Data), COBOL, JCL, DB2, RACF, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitors
