Position: Special Needs Teacher (Sixth Form)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: January 2025
Location: Solihull (based between the school and Solihull College)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
About Us:
Supply Allies is supporting an OFSTED Outstanding special needs school in the heart of Solihull, dedicated to providing a tailored, supportive, and inclusive education for pupils with special educational needs. We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher to work with sixth-form pupils aged 16-18, supporting those on the autistic spectrum across our school site and Solihull College.
The Role:
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will:
* Deliver individualised and innovative lessons to support the academic, social, and life skills development of sixth-form pupils.
* Plan and adapt curriculum content to meet the unique needs and aspirations of pupils on the autistic spectrum.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues at the school and Solihull College to ensure a consistent and seamless learning experience.
* Foster independence, preparing students for adulthood, employment, or further education.
* Build strong partnerships with families, carers, and external agencies to provide holistic support for each pupil.
* Monitor and assess progress, maintaining clear records and reporting to stakeholders as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience working in SEN settings.
* Proven experience teaching pupils on the autistic spectrum, particularly those aged 16-18.
* Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies and approaches, including sensory and communication support.
* Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with external partners.
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young people with diverse needs.
