The rank is dependent on seniority and experience and can be either Assistant Professor (tenure-track), or a tenured position as Associate or Full Professor.
Your responsibilities:
You will support our research and teaching activities in the field of Computer Science by establishing an independent research group focusing on research topics related to Scalable Data Processing Systems. Possible areas of interest are:
NoSQL Databases
Database Management and Systems
Data Warehousing and Mining
Cloud Computing and Big Data Technologies
Remote Access and Edge Computing
Data-Driven Software Systems and Analytics
Distributed and Parallel Databases
Information Systems, e.g., Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Spatial-Temporal Data Management, e.g., Geo-Information-Systems (GIS)
Machine Learning for Database Optimization and Query Processing
The successful candidate is expected to support teaching in Computer Science at the Bachelor and Master level (for example Database Management Systems, Advanced Database Systems, Data Warehousing and Big Data Technologies, Cloud Computing Fundamentals); as well as develop and implement innovative, pedagogically sound approaches to online, hybrid and in-person teaching and learning; advise students on their studies; and supervise Bachelor, Master's and PhD theses and research projects.

Several opportunities exist to develop multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with other research groups or our industrial partners, including collaborations in emerging fields such as the use of artificial intelligence in the natural sciences.
Your qualifications and experience:
PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline
A proven track record of research in areas such as database systems, database systems, data science, or cloud computing, demonstrated by high-quality publications
Experience teaching in higher education with a commitment to innovation in curriculum design and delivery, including online and hybrid modes
Demonstrable experience in leading or collaborating on funded research projects, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches and real-world applications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience in mentoring students across undergraduate and graduate levels
Fluency in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus
