Job Description
PhD Student (gn*) Biology / Immunology
Fixed-term of 3 years | Part-time with 65 % | Salary grade E 13 TV-L | Project on the biology of guidance receptors in innate immunity | European Institute for Molecular Imaging (EIMI) | Job ID: 10068
We are UKM. We have a clear social mission and, with our focus on healthcare, research, and teaching, we bear a unique responsibility.
To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in the group of Dr. Maria Florencia Sánchez which is part of the inter-faculty European Institute of Molecular Imaging. Our research focuses on understanding how receptors sense the environment and respond by generating selective responses. We will study an undervalued receptor family, plexins. Plexins regulate immune responses and cancer becoming an attractive drug target. By combining nanotechnology, cell biology and advanced microscopy we aim to unravel how plexin receptors regulate immune responses in the context of breast cancer. The experimental program includes immunology, cell biology, nanotechnology and imaging methods – ideally with you on board!
The position is funded by the CRC1450 and the student will be included in a graduate PhD program from this CRC.
