Job Description
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Track Operative to join our dynamic AIW/CVL team at Treforest - on site working role. 40 hrs per week.
In this role, you will support the Team Leader by ensuring the safe operation of the railway by maintaining, repairing, and overhauling the track. You will use your skills to complete tasks as part of a team, following procedures to meet high standards and deadlines for smooth network running.
This role offers you the unique opportunity to work on the Core Valley Lines - currently the biggest investment for transport infrastructure in Wales, undergoing transformation of the services provided .
What You'll Do:
Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions.
Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent.
Undertake work activities as directed, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.
Contribute to your own development.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
To carry out On Call as and when required.

Ideally, you will hold (or be working towards) an NVQ level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained an appropriate level of Rail knowledge through equivalent relevant experience. A full UK driving license (Cat B) is also required.
